About Osmo
Osmo is building the AI-native motion graphics studio. We help frontier startups, researchers, and creative teams turn ideas, designs, and raw assets into polished launch films, product demos, and cinematic explainers. Faster. With more taste. With real creative control.
Backed by Bain Capital Ventures, Basis Set, MVP Fund, and Collaborative Fund. Our tools already support launches for companies like Parallel, Physical Intelligence, and YC-backed teams.
We’re not just hiring a motion designer. We’re hiring someone who wants to change what motion design is.
The tools that define motion work today were built for a different era. We think the next decade looks completely different: prompts that generate scene structure, agents that iterate on compositions, AI that handles what used to take days so you can spend your energy on the 10% that actually requires taste.
We’re building that future at Osmo. We need someone who’s been waiting for it.
The role
You’ll make real work inside the Osmo editor and be one of the most important signals we have about whether the product is working. When something slows you down or limits what you can make, you say so. That feedback goes directly into what gets built next.
What you’ll do
- Make polished motion work inside the Osmo editor: launch films, product demos, explainers, content pieces
- Push the AI toolkit to its limits: prompt-driven scene generation, AI-assisted asset creation, agent-directed composition, iterative refinement
- Build a library of example projects, templates, and reference videos that show customers what’s possible
- Run a tight feedback loop with the product team: name what feels wrong, show what better looks like, help build the thing you wish existed
- Work directly with customers, frontier startups and creative teams, and bring back what you learn
- Contribute to the visual and motion language that defines what Osmo-made work looks and sounds like
What we’re looking for
- A strong portfolio of motion work: launch films, product videos, cinematic explainers. Work worth watching more than once, that you can talk about with clarity
- Genuine restlessness with the status quo. You don’t think the current toolset is the final answer. You’ve already experimented with AI in your process, or you’re actively looking for ways to
- Deep fluency in at least one professional motion environment: After Effects, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Blender, DaVinci Resolve, Cavalry, or similar
- A point of view you can defend. You can say why something is good, articulate what’s wrong, and describe what a better version looks like
- Eye for detail and a genuine love for the craft. Not optional
Nice to have
- Experience with generative or code-driven motion: Remotion, TouchDesigner, WebGL, p5.js, Rive
- Shipped your own creative work: reels, short films, side projects, generative pieces, anything you made because you had to
- Familiarity with AI creative tools in a real production context: Runway, Kling, Pika, ElevenLabs, Midjourney, Sora
- Background in brand filmmaking or startup launch content
On the AI toolkit
Osmo’s editor is AI-native, not AI-assisted. The agent and the editor are designed together. You can prompt for scene structure, generate and iterate on assets, and direct composition through natural language in the same environment where you’d normally be deep in a timeline.
We’re not looking for someone who uses prompts instead of craft. We’re looking for someone whose craft gets sharper with better tools and who can feel the difference.
